On Thanksgiving Day 2020

On Thanksgiving Day My daily habit, morning walk accompanied sometimes by my daughter whether freezing cold or heat swearing into sweat circling around our favorite neighborhood creek, a must. A creek with gentle flow of water sheltering numerous animals and birds varieties of trees and shrubs so thankful to have it by our side. Early morning cold November month not a single soul in view, except a group of deer two baby deer and the parents, suddenly stop grazing, with a look of apprehension, as our approaching steps warn them of danger ahead, glad that we had a chance to click a picture. Farther ahead greeting us are the Turkeys in groups. male in their own domain, some fanning their wings displaying iridescent multicolor while female turkeys group apart; one turkey draws our attention, Its one leg distorted backward always follows the others, limping notably. Another unforgettable sight to note, a bird trilling its wings hovers in front of the side mirror of a car Its own image reflecting; we stop to watch, and the shade of happiness flashes on our faces turning into smile. While circling the creek as we walk the memorable glimpses of happenings around us and also on behalf of the lucky wild Turkeys here, I am thankful to the universe specially on this “Thanksgiving” day.
