Continuation of Oregon trip:posted before

As the first floor room was mine and I had to use the sofa cum bed for the night Shobha helped me to sset up the bed. From my room the view of the bay and the lights from the shore across was very interesting. My hand bag and back pack were already kept here at first floor. Then at second floor where kitchen and dining area plus sitting area we had dinner while conversations carried on. After dinner I went down to my room and after taking care of my teeth went to bed to sleep. The light at bay shore gave me enough light for me to go to bathroom during night time. I usually get up two to three time nowadays. Next day August 15, I was awake by abou 6 am and had my tea. Luckily I brought tea bags from home, that was a smart thing I did. After tea I had shower and then my morning prayer. After breakfast We drove to National Park and walked around including the rose garden nearby. While I sat down watching the sea wave, Latt, Shobha, Roshni and Raj went to walk around by the ocean. After about 40 minutes they returned and headed to our RBNB where we had been staying. later in the afternoon i stayed back at my room while they all went for hiking. From my room i enjoyed watching the sight, Coosh Bay water where some are sailing around may be for fishing,I continued to write something and check my emails. On August 16 we drove around and had breakfast at Coosh Bay board walk area. After walking around for sometime we drove again where sea lions were resting. Came back to our place and rested for sometime. I was having tooth ache and had to use orajell which help me a lot. later Shobha,Roshni with her dog Mylo and I took a long walk and had a good time. August 17th, 2020 we left Coosh Bay Condo for home and took the 101 route by the side of the Pacific ocean.I enjoyed the scenic view of the ocean with its restless wave and the at the left side the landscape of the hills abundance of the pine trees. had brunch at McDonal and later we found one good rest area on way back. As we reached home by 6 pm I immediately looked around for the conditons of my plants. Most of it looked a bit weathered. i watered immediately. The trip was an experience i enhoyed specially during this pendamic time. n

Locked down travel

7/24/20
I have been staying inside the house except a walk around the neighborhood in the morning sometimes in the evening since the announcement of lock down in March 2020. What a year to start. My plan for cruise with princess March end with my friend Myrna was in jeopardy. We had booked for it one year ahead. We both started packing up for the trip but the news of the corona virus affecting passengers in cruise line started pouring out and we decided to opt out of out plan. It was really a disappointment for both of us. Well I continue to stay at home with my family and keep my self busy with cooking, reading, yard work and watching TV, Not too bad and I am enjoying my time. On Friday the 24th of jJuly my daughter insisted that i come with them to Squaw Valley ski resort. They plan to go for hike with their family friend Bony and Guy whole day on 25th Saturday. While spend the day at the resort myself. I was a bit reluctant to go but she insisted that i go with them.  I agreed and ready for the journey after nearly four months' stay at home. It was good for a change as i had been at home without going even to the stores. We drove as usual Lall drove and without stopping anywhere we reached the village around 5 pm. We were happy we got a good room facing the main area where shops and restaurants are located and just facing us from our fourth floor there was Starbucks. It was familiar sight as other restaurants were all new names.

Mother's Day during Shelter In Place.

Now that we are all in shelter in place we have to think ourselves how to utilize our time.  As I am at home and not working, there is not much of difference for me. I am more busy now as groups start to have activities more to keep the usual activities running.
Nowadays most of the young mothers are sort of complaining as their situations change. The children are at home doing on line classes, husbands are at home working and their hot lunch to be ready.  is completely changed, more responsibilities coming up. I hear their regular complaints and give my sympathy if needed. I don't blame them..
Out Sgi study meeting on 9th May performed through zoom. At least we could do it and see each other and listen to each other through the internet. My chanting keeps me peace of mind and I feel happy with the situations whatever it is. I am confident that my son in law, Louie Viseu's surgery for his tongue cancer will go smoothly on 5/12/20, as our SGI group also chanting for his smooth surgery and full recovery.

since it is nearly two months today 5/10/20 Mother's Day the Locked Down has become a part of our live all over USA. Well it is not only in USA it is also all over the world.

May 10, Mother's Day.
Mother's Day today celebrated today ia bit different kind of way.  We are still concerned of the Corona virus being around as more and more are still being infected and also many dying.

But Mother's Day is always a special day, my grandson Lucas came with his partner Sean to wish Happy Mother's Day after getting dinner for for of us. Dinner of the  Day and breakfast for the next day (ordered from take out Restaurant in South Bay. We all sat at the backyard mostly in mask but eating cannot be accomplished with mask so said bye to it.
After drinks and snacks and having we good time together dinner was ready. As I  made my grandson's favorite dal (chana dal)
Sean's favorite Japanese nato I kept ready packed nicely for them to take home.  I am glad to see them happy as they carry all back to their place.  We were happy that they came over to see us and have dinner together. We were also so happy that they came showing their love and care of mom and grandma. Very happy that we all were able to be together at least for few hours. Call from Leon and Billy, also call from Dev and MJ all  to wish for Mother's Day.
Next day on Mother's Day, Jibesh and Rachna called and later Lata's phone to wish me and Shobha. Evening time we drove  to Kabul Kabab to get (our order on line) Chicken kabab and lamb biriyani . After dropping food to Pari and her kids we then proceeded to Emeryville near the water (picnic spots.) Though it was windy we enjoyed the view of sunset.

on Mother's Day.

After having our dinner, we hurried back to the parked car as it was too windy and cold. Anyway it was good drive as we wanted to have experience of the sunset view for a change. Happy Mother's Day.

Today being Monday Shobha and Lall started to work and I took out my laptop to enter what all happened during last two or three days. I came to know that Arvind is not feeling well since yesterday. I kept special prayer for him while I chanted for Louie for 45 minutes in the evening while 15 minutes in the morning. So one hour chanting for him I want to keep till he comes back home after surgery. At least for the month of May. After that 10 minutes for him until her gets better can

First meeting of the year TV Writer's club

1/18/20
Today was not much of interesting meeting as used to be before. Very limited members were there and hence I didn't enjoy much. Missing Annette Langer for the first time as she passed away last December. She was a good writer and author.
Met Gary Lea who missed our scheduled meeting last time in Market Place. There was not much to talk about the coming up anthology plan. May be March end that will be decided. Talked to Cnnnie about my rejoining by March when the day light changes. Talked to the next seated lady Eve Sprunt who has published a memoir based on her aunt's letters during 1954-55 when she was teaching in the University of Karachi. That was interesting and I asked her if available as e book. So she gave me her card and I plan to look up in line.
I have to see where I can focus more and I know I need to be involved more with the writers of the local area. Also more with SGI activities as much as I can.

imphal Town

Imphal Town

 Imphal Town

The top floor space to host
old associates, standing with nostalgic memories
once a sleepy town,
 now awaken with modern techs.

Old time reminiscence of ephemeral pleasures
With shadows of sadness,
now forgotten,
while new secrets revealed.
No more of giggling teenagers,
matured reflections mesmerized.

Emotional turmoil ones lived through
slipping out of a sonorous voice,
life’s twists and turns,
the admirable ones
we have lived to honor.

At the tail end of the time
Women’s light laughter
In frenzy of motion,
We see the town twinkle

Each one leaving a piece
of her heart
while we say goodbye to
The rendezvous of our teenage memories.
